Snow day in La Thuile Italy
Today was my first day on the slopes at La Thuile Italy. I have not skied for 6 years, it was absolutely incredible!! Most people say it’s a sport for boys but girls you must give it a go! You’ll have so much fun!!
The resort was great, there is plenty to do, but if you want night life then i would go to a bigger resort, i stayed in Le Miramonti Hotel & Wellness it was absolutely beautiful, a 8 minuet walk to the slopes but it was totally worth it.
For any one that is going and has not been before I thought I would share with you the gear I brought for my trip.
Snow goggles, these are an absolute must, the light on the mountain is very bright, on a sunny day it’s hard to see, today it was a bit windy and the top dust layer of snow was blowing everywhere.
Neck Garter- I went with out a neck garter for about half an hour,my nose by then had frozen and my lips have wind chill. So I would Definatley get one! A nice fluffy or fleece one.
Gloves, an obvious one but I would take a couple of pairs, they get wet and potentially smelly, you could also risk loosing a pair on the mountain.
Helmet, another obvious one, make sure you get a good helmet with nice padded ear covers as it gets chilly, also you can insert speakers so you can listen to music too, that helps on the chair lifts.
Salopets and jacket, well you can have any set they are all the same, the more expensive the better, the warmer and the more stylish. I chose blue and white as I love white but be carful you don’t wear all white and blend in to the snow.
Thermals- MAKE sure you buy multiple pairs. They get hot and dirty, they are a life savour when it gets chilly, windy or starts to snow.
Snow Socks. Again make sure you have a pair for each day, long and thick to keep your feet warm and to protect them from the uncomfortable boots.
all of my gear was from SurfDome
